Israel’s Channel 13 reported that Israeli officials believe the United States is preparing to expand its confrontation with Iran.
According to the channel, Israeli officials assess that US President Donald Trump is moving towards broadening the scope of operations against Iran, describing the current period as a “decisive week”.
An Israeli security official was quoted as saying that the Iranians are “making considerable efforts to avoid drawing Israel into the event”. However, the official added that “the situation could change if the United States decides to increase the pace of its attacks, including by targeting civilian facilities”.
Israeli Security Establishment Monitoring Iranian Response
Channel 13 said Israeli security authorities had confirmed that there were currently no warnings of possible attacks directed at Israel.
However, it noted that the situation remained highly volatile and could change at any moment if Iran felt it had been placed in a difficult position.
The United States has sent further military reinforcements to the region, including approximately 100 aerial refuelling aircraft, as part of preparations for potential developments.
