US President Donald Trump has said that Iran’s leadership has no option but to reach an agreement, indicating that the issue will ultimately be resolved either through a formal written deal or by what he described as a more difficult path.
Speaking to NBC News, Trump claimed that Iran retains only between 21 and 22 per cent of its missile arsenal.
He stated that Iran’s leaders are resilient but will eventually be forced to take steps they never imagined, although he acknowledged that such developments would take time. Trump added that “we have reached a point where we will resolve the Iranian issue very quickly.”
Trump further claimed that the United States had completely destroyed Iran’s military capabilities and that Tehran was left with only a limited number of missiles and drones.
“We know exactly how many Iranian missiles and drones remain, where they are located, and where their production facilities are situated,” he said.
The US president also asserted that the outcome with Iran would be decisive “one way or another,” while describing the current maritime blockade imposed by Washington as unprecedented.
He added that the more difficult path to resolving the standoff with Iran could, in reality, prove to be the easiest way to achieve the desired outcome.
