A classified briefing by Israeli military intelligence to the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Security Committee has outlined key developments related to Iran’s military capabilities and the situation in Lebanon.
Iran’s Ballistic Capability Partially Restored
According to Channel 12, citing the intelligence briefing, Iran has successfully restored part of its ballistic missile system. This indicates a recovery in strategic capabilities despite recent pressures and confrontations.
The briefing also confirmed that Mojtaba Khamenei remains alive, addressing speculation surrounding his status.
Lebanon Talks Carry Escalation Risks
On Lebanon, Israeli intelligence warned that ongoing negotiations between the Lebanese president and Israel could place the president’s life at risk, reflecting the sensitivity and internal volatility surrounding any engagement with the occupation.
While a large-scale attack on Beirut is not currently under consideration, the briefing confirmed approval for targeted strikes against emerging threats, signalling a controlled but active military posture.
Long Term Objective: Hezbollah Disarmament
The intelligence assessment reiterated that dismantling Hezbollah remains a long-term strategic objective for Israel, reinforcing its ongoing focus on weakening resistance capabilities in Lebanon.
Further Classified Briefings Expected
The Israeli Chief of Staff is scheduled to appear before the committee next Sunday to deliver an additional classified briefing, suggesting that further developments and assessments are expected to follow.
