Israel is reportedly pushing the United States to exert influence on the Lebanese government and military, specifically demanding action against Hezbollah in areas beyond what Israel defines as a “security zone”.

Israeli officials framed the situation as contingent on external intervention, arguing that without US involvement, the current arrangement lacks enforceability. Their position reflects a broader attempt to reshape the operational landscape in southern Lebanon by compelling the Lebanese Armed Forces to confront Hezbollah directly.
