The United States and Israel are preparing what could become one of the most severe bombing campaigns to date against Iran’s energy infrastructure, according to informed sources cited by the US network CBS News.
CBS News reported that the attacks could be launched over the weekend, adding that Israel has been informed of the plan and is coordinating with the United States.
The network said President Donald Trump has not yet issued the final orders to carry out the proposed strikes, which were discussed during a meeting with members of his administration at Camp David.
It also reported that several White House aides responsible for political affairs have strongly opposed the plan.
