US Vice President JD Vance said on Wednesday evening that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein had “clear connections to the highest levels of Mossad.”
Speaking during an interview on the Joe Rogan podcast, Vance said Epstein maintained extensive relationships, “whether with Mossad, the CIA, or another deep state organisation, whether in the United States, Israel, another country, or a combination of them.”
Vance Rejects Claims Trump Was Blackmailed
Vance dismissed claims that President Donald Trump had been pressured or blackmailed over the Epstein files.
“The idea that Donald Trump was being blackmailed seems completely insane to me,” Vance said. “The notion that he would pick up the phone and say, ‘I’ll take my orders from you’… no, that’s simply not how Donald Trump operates.”
He acknowledged that the administration had mishandled the Epstein case, particularly in its public communication.
“If people want to say we handled the Epstein case badly, then we’re guilty. We handled it badly, especially in the media.”
Suggests a Broader Story Was Never Fully Exposed
Vance also suggested there was likely a wider conspiracy surrounding Epstein that was never fully uncovered.
“If there was a broader conspiracy, and I believe there probably was, then the evidence available in 2007 was a real opportunity to expose it,” he said. “I’ll believe there’s a bigger story behind it until the last day of my life, but I can’t prove it.”
Claims Israeli Backed Campaign Targeted Him
Vance further claimed he had become the target of a propaganda campaign funded by Israel because of his efforts to pursue peace with Iran.
He referred to a Time magazine report which he said demonstrated that American influencers were being paid to oppose an Iran agreement. According to Vance, the report alleged that funds were channelled through a former Trump campaign operative and financed by individuals linked to the Israeli government.
Criticism of Israeli Officials
The US Vice President also criticised Israeli officials whom he claimed were working inside the United States against a potential nuclear agreement with Iran.
He alleged that a “well funded covert campaign” was aimed at derailing the negotiations.
Vance added, “Israel is an ally, just like France or Britain. We’ll reach agreements and we’ll have disagreements.” He said he wanted “a normal relationship with a normal state, based on shared interests.”
