The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon announced on Saturday that its fighters had confronted Israeli military attempts to advance and infiltrate areas along the southern border, saying it targeted concentrations of Israeli troops and military vehicles with rocket barrages and attack drones.
The group said the operations were carried out in defence of Lebanon and its people and in response to what it described as continued Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement.
Ambush in Majdal Zoun
In a series of statements, Hezbollah said its fighters monitored an Israeli force that had entered the town of Majdal Zoun in southern Lebanon.
According to the group, its fighters launched an ambush and engaged the Israeli troops using light and medium weapons as well as rocket-propelled munitions.
The clashes reportedly lasted for two hours and destroyed several military vehicles accompanying the force, which caught fire during the fighting.
At the same time, Hezbollah said it launched three consecutive rocket barrages targeting Israeli troop concentrations on the southern and southeastern outskirts of Majdal Zoun.
Second Ambush in Kfartebnit
In the southern town of Kfartebnit, Hezbollah said it detected an Israeli infantry unit attempting to infiltrate the area shortly after midnight under artillery and smoke cover along the Arnoun to Zafata road.
The group said it lured the force into a pre-prepared kill zone, where explosive devices were detonated and direct clashes followed.
According to Hezbollah, the Israeli force was forced to retreat.
The operation was accompanied by concentrated artillery fire on the ambush site, while Hezbollah fighters also targeted a concentration of Israeli military vehicles on the outskirts of the town with a rocket barrage.
Attack Drones and Anti-Aircraft Fire
Hezbollah said its operations on Saturday also included an attack drone strike against an Israeli command centre near the town of Yahmar al-Shaqif.
The group added that it targeted a military vehicle identified as a Nemera and a gathering of Israeli soldiers inside a building in the city of Khiam.
Attack drones were also used against a recently established artillery position in the border town of Adaisseh, while Hezbollah said it launched rockets at a concentration of Israeli military vehicles in Jdeidet Marjayoun.
In a separate statement, the group announced that its fighters had engaged an Israeli Hermes 450 drone over the Iqlim al-Tuffah region using a surface-to-air missile, forcing the aircraft to withdraw.
Earlier on Saturday, Hezbollah had announced a rocket attack on a recently established Israeli military position in the town of Marun al-Ras.
Escalating Tensions Along the Border
Hezbollah continues to confront Israeli forces along the Lebanese-Palestinian border, targeting troop concentrations and military vehicles while carrying out ambush operations, according to the group.
The movement says its operations are intended to defend Lebanon and its people and to respond to ongoing Israeli violations.
The latest developments come as Israel continues military operations and ceasefire violations in various parts of southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut.
According to Lebanese reports, Israeli strikes have targeted civilians, medical teams and residential buildings, resulting in deaths and injuries across multiple areas.
