Hezbollah has released footage showing the destruction of a Merkava tank in southern Lebanon using an explosive-laden drone.
Direct Drone Strike Captured on Camera
According to Hezbollah, the operation took place in the town of Al-Qantara four days ago. The footage was recorded from two separate angles, including direct visuals from the attack drone as it approached and struck the tank.
The video shows the moment of impact, followed by a large explosion and the ignition of ammunition inside the vehicle.
Defensive Modifications Fail to Prevent Destruction
The footage also reveals that the Merkava tank had been fitted with a metal cage structure intended to protect it from drone attacks. Despite this modification, the drone successfully penetrated the defence and detonated directly on the target.
