An unnamed senior Iranian official has dismissed recent remarks by Donald Trump, stating that Iran has not agreed to suspend uranium enrichment indefinitely.
According to reporting by CNN, the official emphasised that Iran will not accept any arrangement that places it outside the framework of international law. The position underscores Tehran’s insistence on maintaining its nuclear rights within recognised legal boundaries.
Enrichment Remains a Core Dispute
The official identified uranium enrichment as one of the most significant unresolved issues in negotiations with Washington. He warned that Trump’s assertive and self-congratulatory statements risk undermining the already fragile diplomatic process.
Warning Over Diplomatic Intentions
The Iranian official further suggested that Tehran may reassess the trajectory of the talks, stating that while Iran is engaging in diplomacy to achieve tangible outcomes, there is growing concern that the United States is leveraging negotiations to weaken Iran while preparing for potential escalation.
He added that Iran remains prepared to respond decisively to any form of aggression, reinforcing the country’s stance amid ongoing tensions.
