The United States Department of Justice has released new documents related to sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, including an image showing him alongside Emirati businessman Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DP World, standing in front of a piece of the Kaaba’s covering lying on the ground.
Arabi21 verified the image, which was published under the reference number EFTA01201031 last Friday as part of the Epstein files connected to sex trafficking scandals and the rape of minors on his island.
The image was sent to Epstein via email by an individual whose identity was concealed. It included a short message stating: “Beware of what you think is a large wallet in someone’s trousers.” According to the email message, the image dates back to 2014.
Based on the visible features of the piece shown in the image, it is believed to be part of the covering of the Kaaba’s door, identifiable by specific decorative elements and details resembling the door itself.
The photograph appears to have been taken inside a place resembling a palace, though it is not known whether it was Epstein’s residence or that of the Emirati businessman Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem.
The image coincides with the disclosure of email correspondence within the Epstein files involving a Saudi businesswoman residing in the United Arab Emirates, Aziza Al Ahmadieh, who works as an adviser at the UAE Ministry of Tourism. In the correspondence, she informed Epstein that she had gifted him three pieces of the Kaaba’s covering.
According to the emails, Aziza, in cooperation with another individual named Abdullah Al Maari, arranged the shipment of three pieces of the Kaaba’s covering, embroidered with pure gold thread, and presented them to Epstein.
The correspondence indicates that the pieces were transported by air from Saudi Arabia to Florida via British Airways, with coordination that included invoices, customs arrangements, and delivery within the United States.
The emails detail the gifted items given to the sex trafficker implicated in sexual scandals involving senior officials around the world. One piece was from inside the Sacred Kaaba, another from the external covering, and a third had been produced but not yet used.
According to the correspondence, the unused piece was classified under the category of artworks to facilitate its shipment classification when transported to the United States.
In one of the emails, Aziza Al Ahmadieh stated: “By the way, the black piece has been touched by no fewer than 10 million Muslims of different schools of thought, Sunni, Shiite and others. They circumambulate the Kaaba seven times, then each tries as much as possible to touch it. They have placed their prayers, wishes, tears, and hopes upon this piece, hoping that all their supplications will then be answered.”
The shipment arrived at Epstein’s residence in March 2017, after a long period following his imprisonment and registration as a sex offender.
The correspondence does not explain how Al Ahmadieh came to know Epstein or the reason for sending these pieces to him.
The image sparked a wave of anger across social media platforms, along with questions about how a part of the Kaaba’s covering came to be in the possession of a man known for sex trafficking.
