The Iranian army affirmed that its armed forces have reached advanced levels of operational readiness amid escalating regional tensions, stressing that recent security developments have driven the military establishment to broaden the scope of preparedness and planning to confront more complex scenarios.
Iranian media quoted the Deputy for Executive Affairs of the Ground Forces of the Iranian Army, Brigadier General Karim Cheshk, as saying that the armed forces, based on the directives of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and the support of the Iranian people, “possess full capability to deal with existing and potential threats”, emphasising that the current phase requires the highest degrees of vigilance and readiness.
Cheshk’s remarks came during his participation in the ceremony honouring and appointing the commander of the 58th Special Forces Brigade “Zolfaghar” in the city of Shahroud. He noted that maintaining defensive readiness was not the result of emergency measures, but rather the outcome of a long course of continuous planning and gradual modernisation of military capabilities.
The military official explained that “recent clashes and security events, particularly what is known as the Twelve Day War, contributed to strengthening the resolve of the armed forces and pushed them to reassess threats and methods of confrontation”, considering that these developments revealed the “diversity of aggressive methods” employed by Israel in the region.
He added that these developments imposed the intensification of efforts to prepare the forces to deal with more difficult conditions, through updating operational plans, expanding training programmes, and raising the level of coordination among different units, in a manner that ensures readiness to confront various forms of threat.
Regarding military capabilities, Cheshk revealed that recent months have witnessed “notable growth in the level of combat readiness”, particularly in the field of defensive equipment. He pointed to the development of unmanned aerial vehicles, long range precision missiles, as well as network enabled weapons, which constitute a core pillar of the ground forces’ strategy.
He confirmed that raising the level of operational vigilance along land borders is a top priority, noting that some adversary strategies rely on infantry movements across borders, movements that, according to him, are subject to “precise and continuous intelligence and operational monitoring”.
The Deputy for Executive Affairs of the Ground Forces stressed that the Iranian army “will not overlook for a single moment the strengthening of its defensive capabilities”, affirming that the armed forces view themselves as an extension of the path of the martyrs and base their work on the support and steadfastness of the Iranian people.
Cheshk concluded his statements by affirming that the military establishment “stands at the highest levels of readiness”, delivering a message of reassurance to the Iranian people and to the families of the fallen that the armed forces are “pressing ahead in protecting the country’s security and defending it with all available capabilities”.
