The account of the office of Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu published an unusual video generated using artificial intelligence on the Instagram platform, showing Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump piloting a US B-2 bomber. This is the same bomber used in the American attack on the Fordow nuclear facility.
The Israeli newspaper Maariv reported that the hint issued by the Prime Minister’s Office could be interpreted in several directions.
Alongside the possibility of launching an attack on Iran, an option that remains on the agenda and has been widely discussed in recent days, the newspaper pointed to another possibility that the occupation government had hoped to achieve. This involves the sale of B-2 bombers to the occupation as part of a future arms deal.
In this context, Maariv explained that the Israeli army was surprised by the publication of the video, noting that no discussions had been held within the air force regarding the operational readiness of this type of aircraft.
It added that it is unclear whether the Israeli army has an actual need for these bombers, and noted that making such a decision would have required the air force to conduct a comprehensive assessment study addressing the advantages of this capability, the operational need for it, and the available alternatives.
The newspaper indicated that the B-2 aircraft is a stealth strategic bomber, and that due to its production in limited numbers, the costs of maintenance and spare parts remain unclear.
According to the report, it remains uncertain whether this aircraft represents, from an economic feasibility perspective, the specific capability needed by the Israeli occupation air force. This is particularly so given its ability to disable most radar and air defence systems across the Middle East, especially in Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Iraq, and Yemen, even without employing such bombers.
The report noted that the video was published around three days after the Israeli military establishment confirmed that the prime minister had placed Iran at the centre of his priorities, amid what it described as intensive Iranian activity to rearm and build a system that could again threaten the occupation state.
According to estimates by the defence establishment, Netanyahu’s visit to the United States will not be limited to meeting the US president. It will also include meetings with senior aides, as well as officials in the US government and military, most notably the president’s son in law Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff.
Maariv quoted a military source as saying, “We said that we succeeded in destroying fifty percent of Iran’s missile capabilities, and alongside the missiles, we also destroyed their launch platforms”.
The source added, “Iran is working to produce missiles and launch platforms, and is seeking to return to the level it was at on the eve of the war. Everyone here is in an arms race, including Iran, as well as Israel and other states”.
According to estimates by the Israeli occupation army, Iran’s continued efforts to enhance its armament, with a focus on missile systems, and the possibility that it may seek to obtain anti aircraft weapons, including radar and interception systems, could push Israel to carry out a new preemptive campaign against Iran.
The report stated that the occupation government is studying several options for action. These include carrying out a unilateral Israeli military operation, a second option based on joint action between the occupation and the United States, and a third option involving an American military operation similar to the one carried out by the United States in Syria against the organisation known as Islamic State at the end of last week.
