A secret Iranian report has predicted that the region will witness military operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Ansar Allah Houthi movement in Yemen, before the occupation state moves to launch a new attack on Iran.
The Kuwaiti newspaper Al Jarida quoted a source in Iran’s Supreme National Security Council as saying that Iranian security agencies have recently prepared an extensive report on the external and internal security risks facing the country. The report assesses that action against the Houthis is likely to be carried out by local Yemeni groups, with American and Israeli air and naval support.
The source added that “Israel will simultaneously launch a wide scale attack on Lebanon, alongside Yemen, aimed at eliminating what remains of Hezbollah, and that Lebanon will witness movements from the Syrian side, where Israel occupies areas in southern Syria”.
Iranian assessments stated that “any Israeli attack on Iran will be largely contingent on the success of operations against the party and the Houthis”.
The source explained that the security report warns of efforts to increase coordination among armed separatist groups to carry out security attacks in parallel with the expected Israeli attack.
The report also addresses contacts between active Baluchi separatist groups in the east, Kurdish groups in the west, Azeri groups in the north west of the country, as well as Arab separatists in Ahvaz in south western Iran.
The security report warned of an escalation in the smuggling of light and medium weapons and military equipment into Iranian territory. This indicates that these groups may initiate strikes against Iranian military and vital infrastructure and carry out assassinations of political, military, and security figures, in parallel with the Israeli attack, with the aim of destabilising the Iranian system and pushing it towards collapse.
The source told the Kuwaiti newspaper that Iran is planning to target any state that cooperates in this plan, clarifying that Tehran’s response will not be limited to striking Israel or American bases in neighbouring countries.
