The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, have released for the first time dramatic footage of a meticulously executed ambush that targeted Israeli occupation forces east of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.
The video, which had been withheld due to operational security considerations, shows two Israeli armored vehicles being struck by powerful explosives—“Telfaziyah” and “Shawaz” devices—resulting in multiple Israeli casualties, both dead and wounded.
Military helicopters are seen urgently evacuating the injured and retrieving the bodies of occupation soldiers from the scene.
Islamic Jihad Executes Parallel Ambush in Khan Younis
In a related development, Saraya al-Quds, the military wing of Islamic Jihad, revealed details of another strategic ambush launched just days ago against an Israeli engineering unit in eastern Khan Younis.
According to their military statement, resistance fighters successfully lured the Israeli unit into a booby-trapped building, rigged with high-powered explosives. Once the forces entered, the building was detonated, killing one Israeli soldier and critically wounding three others.
Following the blast, as Israeli reinforcements arrived, they were targeted with anti-armor missiles, while resistance fighters confirmed the arrival of helicopters to evacuate casualties.
Occupation Forces Admit to Losses
The Israeli military acknowledged on Tuesday the death of Sergeant Major Danilo Moukano of the Kiryati Brigade. He was killed by an explosive device that brought down a four-storey building during a military incursion into eastern Khan Younis.
According to Israeli Army Radio, the blast collapsed the entire structure on top of the soldiers, injuring three others, some of whom remain in critical condition and were airlifted to hospitals.
Military correspondent Doron Kadosh noted that the soldiers entered the building without ensuring it had been cleared, later discovering it had been fully rigged with explosives. The resulting collapse trapped the body of the slain soldier under rubble for hours.
Precision Tactics and Mounting Frustration
Israeli media admitted the explosive device had been planted with extraordinary precision, suggesting pre-planned resistance surveillance and preparation. The shock was compounded by the fact that Israeli forces were being watched by resistance fighters throughout the operation.
Following the incident, Channel 14 correspondent Noam Amir harshly criticised the Israeli military leadership, questioning the repeated entry of troops into unscanned and unsecured buildings—especially when large portions of Gaza have reportedly been fortified and rigged during previous ceasefires.
He added that Moukano was the second Israeli soldier killed during Operation “Chariots of Gideon,” and noted that the Israeli military has yet to deploy its full combat capabilities, revealing signs of frustration and internal doubt within the ranks.
