Numerous discrepancies have surfaced surrounding an Israeli occupation forces (IOF) video released on November 15, showcasing a tour of alleged Palestinian Resistance weaponry reportedly found at Al-Shifa hospital, according to CNN.
The video, led by IOF spokesperson Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus, reveals less weaponry than later footage captured by international news crews, prompting questions about the authenticity of the discovery.
A comparison conducted by CNN between the IOF’s online footage and Fox News‘ coverage, which was granted access to the site hours later, showed there were many inconsistencies at hand.
In the video, Lt. Col. Conricus’ watch indicates the time as 13:18, while Fox News Foreign Correspondent Trey Yingst reports being on-site in what he describes as “the middle of the night.”
Yingst’s report highlights a bag behind an MRI machine containing two AK-47 guns, whereas the IOF’s video earlier showed only one AK-47 gun in the same location. The origins of the additional firearm remain unclear, raising questions about its presence and the circumstances surrounding its appearance.
Notably, the Israeli forces posted a photo online, purportedly depicting the discovered weaponry at al-Shifa hospital. The file name on WhatsApp suggests the photo was taken at 17:35, which puts it as being taken after the IOF made their tour but before the Fox News crew arrived, leading to speculation that the weaponry may have been removed and replaced before the news crews’ arrival.
Moreover, the BBC, granted access to the hospital on November 16, still found two AK-47s atop the bag inside the MRI room where only one was shown to be there earlier.
A series of disappointments
This is not the only issue with the video posted by the Israeli occupation forces, with Israeli media reporting on Wednesday that the extensive Israeli propaganda following the Israeli occupation forces’ incursion of the al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza was a disappointment for Israeli settlers who believed that “Israel” would eliminate the Hamas movement during the assault.
The media indicated that the leadership of Hamas remains cohesive even after the incursion of al-Shifa, and its fighters continue to launch rockets toward “Tel Aviv” and Gaza Envelope settlements.
It mentioned that Israeli occupation forces reached al-Shifa but the goal of the operation was not achieved, as the Israeli forces failed to capture Hamas leader in Gaza Yahya al-Sinwar and Commander-in-Chief of al-Qassam Brigades Mohammad Deif.
“Israel” worked on spreading false narratives simultaneously with the incursion of al-Shifa, claiming that the hospital houses Israeli captives. However, this narrative was quickly debunked by the military affairs correspondent for the Israeli Army Radio, Doron Kadosh, who confirmed the absence of captives in the hospital.
Hamas confirmed earlier that the Israeli claims about weapons in al-Shifa Hospital are a continuation of blatant lies and cheap propaganda, through which the occupation tries to justify its crime aimed at destroying the health sector in Gaza.
The government Media Office in Gaza announced that more than 30 unarmed Palestinians were killed by Israeli occupation forces in al-Shifa Hospital, as they opened fire on families who tried to leave the hospital.
The Office stressed that the occupation’s aggression and assault on the al-Shifa Medical Complex, its departments, and everyone in it, including patients, displaced Palestinians, and the medical staff, amounts to yet another war crime committed by the Israeli occupation.
It is also important to underline that while al-Shifa was getting invaded, the occupation also cut off all communications from the hospital.
