Mohammad Mokhber, adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, has threatened that civilian aviation across the region could be disrupted if Iran is prevented from operating flights as a result of US sanctions and pressure.
In a post on X, Mokhber said that aligning with the United States in implementing hostile policies would remain etched in the memory of the Iranian people.
“Our strategy on this issue is clear: either the region’s airspace is available to everyone, or it is available to no one. If Iran is denied the ability to fly and access airport services, then no other country in the region will have that ability either,” he said.
His remarks come as Iraqi and Gulf airports suspend flights to and from Iran amid US pressure and threats of sanctions against airports and service providers dealing with Iranian airlines.
