The United States has informed Israel that it plans to deploy dozens of additional aerial refuelling aircraft as Washington prepares for the possibility of expanding its military attacks against Iran, according to informed sources cited by Axios.
The report said US President Donald Trump is considering a broader attack on Iran that would go beyond the current strikes taking place around the Strait of Hormuz.
Wider Military Options Under Consideration
Among the options reportedly being considered are strikes against Iranian infrastructure, including electricity-generating stations.
The Trump administration is also examining the possibility of intensifying attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities in an effort to bury the country’s enriched uranium stockpiles deeper underground.
Another proposed target is the underground site known as Pickaxe Mountain, according to the report.
US and Israeli officials told Axios that Trump could issue an order within the coming days to expand military operations against Iran.
