Hebrew-language media outlets on Saturday evening published a video recording that documents a high-impact operation carried out by Palestinian resistance fighters, targeting two Israeli Merkava tanks in the southern Gaza Strip.
The footage — widely circulated on the “X” platform — shows at least two fighters emerging from rubble; one fires a missile directly at a tank, while the other runs toward the second tank and throws an explosive device inside it.
According to Israeli media reports, the operation took place near the city of Khan Younis, where the resistance forces set up an ambush for an advancing Israeli military unit. The attack reportedly resulted in injuries among Israeli soldiers, though no specific numbers or details about their conditions were released.
As of this report, the Al-Qassam Brigades — the military wing of Hamas — has not issued an official statement regarding the operation. Earlier on Saturday, however, Al-Qassam announced that its fighters had sniped an Israeli soldier, fatally wounding him, in the Abasan al-Kabira area east of Khan Younis in the southern part of the Strip.
The release of the video coincided with a report by Yedioth Ahronoth confirming that five Israeli soldiers were injured in Gaza, including one soldier who was wounded when an explosive device hit his vehicle in Khan Younis.
The newspaper added that the other four soldiers were injured in clashes with Palestinian fighters south of Gaza City.
