Palestinian security sources have revealed that the United Arab Emirates is pressing ahead with its covert plot to weaken the Palestinian resistance by funding and supporting the formation of new armed cells in the Gaza Strip, fully coordinated with Israel.
According to the sources, a dangerous plan has been uncovered to establish a new armed gang in eastern Gaza City, specifically in the Shujaiya neighbourhood, modelled after the so-called “Yasser Abu Shabab gang” — a group previously involved in assassination missions and kidnappings carried out in direct coordination with the Israeli occupation.
Investigations indicate that external parties — with the UAE at the forefront — have been bankrolling and fuelling this subversive project in an ongoing effort to penetrate the Palestinian home front and undermine the resistance’s steadfastness in the face of Israel’s aggression.
Recruiting Fatah Members and Coordinating With Shin Bet
The new group reportedly includes individuals known for their ties to Fatah, among them employees working for Palestinian Authority institutions based in Ramallah.
Information obtained by Gaza’s security agencies shows that this cell was in the final stages of executing a series of sabotage operations in frontline areas, including surveillance, tracking, and kidnappings, timed to coincide with Israeli military movements east of the city.
Sources confirmed that investigations led to the cell’s ringleader, identified as Rami Adnan Mohammed Helles, a civilian employee of the Palestinian Authority living in the Tel al-Hawa neighbourhood in southwest Gaza.
Helles is said to receive direct instructions from an Israeli Shin Bet officer known as “Abu Rami.” The two reportedly use encrypted apps to exchange information, with field coordination taking place alongside Israeli occupation forces operating around Shujaiya.
A Cell for ‘Dirty Work’
The plot went far beyond intelligence gathering. This armed gang was reportedly equipped with Israeli-supplied weapons, helmets, and night-vision gear — tasked with executing high-risk missions against resistance fighters and residents in Gaza’s eastern neighbourhoods. Their primary objectives included:
- Ambushing and shooting resistance fighters while they move along frontline positions.
- Kidnapping collaborators working with the resistance and handing them over to Israeli forces at prearranged military points.
- Spreading internal chaos and distrust by sowing division among local communities.
The UAE’s Fingerprints
The structure and sabotage role of this new cell closely mirror the methods previously used by Yasser Abu Shabab and his network in western Gaza, raising serious questions about the UAE’s ongoing role in backing these disruptive factions.
Past reports have exposed Abu Dhabi’s funding of local militias designed to create an environment of security chaos that weakens the resistance and opens the door for deeper Israeli infiltration into Palestinian society.
The growing evidence points to what security experts believe is part of a broader project orchestrated by Abu Dhabi in coordination with Israel’s Shin Bet — planting militias that operate outside national frameworks and gradually evolve into domestic repression tools under the guise of “Fatah-affiliated” fronts carrying coded security messages.
Diplomatic sources in the Arab region have previously revealed the UAE’s criteria for funding these militias of chaos inside Gaza, including how UAE National Security Advisor Tahnoun bin Zayed crafted what insiders call a “force unafraid of blood” — designed to dismantle the Gaza front from within.
This aggressive Emirati strategy has unfolded amid the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, where Palestinians are already enduring an open-ended genocide and relentless Israeli aggression. The threats, however, now extend beyond Israeli airstrikes and tanks — they include parallel projects specifically targeting the unity and resilience of the Palestinian people.
At the heart of these projects stands the UAE, wielding its financial and security clout in a double game aimed at tearing apart the Palestinian social fabric and undermining the control of resistance factions. These locally funded militias may be presented as “civil initiatives,” but in reality, they serve as functional tools to sow chaos and enforce internal division — all while Gaza bleeds.
