Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, announced that the Lebanese resistance movement is not neutral in the escalating war between Iran and Israel, declaring unequivocally that Hezbollah stands firmly with the Islamic Republic — its leadership, people, and sovereignty — and will act accordingly in the face of this aggression.
Speaking to Al-Manar, the party’s official media outlet, Qassem condemned the Israeli assault on Iran, describing it as unjustified and provocative. He stressed that Iran’s nuclear program, including uranium enrichment for peaceful purposes, is a legitimate right under international law and poses no threat to any nation.
“These so-called concerns about Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities are baseless,” Qassem stated.
“They are part of a broader campaign to halt Iran’s scientific progress and regional advancement.”
American Threats Against Iran Are Attacks on the Whole Region
Qassem denounced the U.S. threats against Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and condemned the recent military escalation as an attack not only on Iran but on all the free peoples of the region and the world. He warned that U.S. policy is pushing the Middle East toward chaos and instability, undermining any chance for peace.
He stressed Iran’s legitimate right to self-defence, and asserted that all free peoples, oppressed nations, and religious scholars must raise their voices in support of Iran and its leadership.
“We call on all the righteous and the oppressed to stand behind the wise leadership of Imam Khamenei and the courageous Iranian people,” Qassem declared.
“Iran Will Not Be Defeated”
Qassem reaffirmed Hezbollah’s unwavering solidarity with Iran, stating that:
“Neither the United States nor Israel will be able to break the will of the Iranian people or the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.”
He described Iran’s resistance as unshakeable, and expressed full backing for the Iranian leadership “in all forms necessary to bring an end to this tyranny.”
U.S. Warns Hezbollah Against Entering the War
Earlier Thursday in Beirut, U.S. Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy to Syria Thomas Barak warned that any involvement by Hezbollah in the Iran-Israel war would be a grave mistake.
This comes after Hezbollah condemned the Israeli strikes on Iran at the onset of the confrontation last week. Although the movement has not officially declared entry into the war — especially following its own recent, intense conflict with Israel that ended in a ceasefire on November 27, repeatedly violated by Israeli forces — Hezbollah’s language and positioning signal growing alignment with Iran’s defensive posture.
This work demands time, pressure, and sacrifice.
But we do it—for the Ummah, and for the truth.
