In a direct blow to Israel’s military advance in southern Gaza, the Al-Qassam Brigades — the armed wing of Hamas — released exclusive combat footage Friday evening documenting a highly coordinated ambush against Zionist forces in eastern Rafah, as part of their ongoing “Gates of Hell” operations.
The operation, filmed and released with clarity and confidence, shows a multi-layered trap executed near Al-Mashru Junction in eastern Rafah — an area that has witnessed some of the fiercest clashes in recent days.

According to the military communiqué from Al-Qassam, the operation began with direct anti-fortification strikes targeting the ground floor of a house where Israeli troops had taken cover. Following this, resistance fighters engaged the enemy at close range with select weaponry suitable for urban combat.
After the initial strike, fighters tactically withdrew into a tunnel shaft, baiting occupation soldiers into a pre-planted IED kill zone. As soon as the Zionist troops entered the trap, the charges were detonated, resulting in multiple confirmed casualties.
This ambush comes within the framework of Operation Abuab Al-Jaheem (“Gates of Hell”), launched Wednesday, which aims to grind down occupation advances and inflict continuous tactical shock.
Occupation Forces Admit Casualties Under Censorship Blackout
On Thursday, the Zionist army acknowledged the death of two soldiers and the injury of others from an explosive device attack on Golani Brigade troops in Rafah. The blast caused a building collapse on the unit.
Israeli military source Hadshot Hamot confirmed that rescue operations were hindered by intense clashes and difficult terrain, labelling the scene a “severe operational incident.”
In response, the Israeli military imposed a strict media blackout, banning Hebrew outlets from publishing any detailed account of the losses — a typical tactic to contain public backlash.
Al-Qassam: “Our Fighters Delivered a Direct Blow Near Al-Fida’i Junction”
In its follow-up statement, Al-Qassam detailed a separate confrontation targeting a Zionist engineering unit consisting of 12 soldiers, who were preparing a demolition mission near Al-Fida’i Junction in the Al-Tannour neighbourhood, also east of Rafah.
Resistance fighters launched two precision anti-personnel and anti-armour rounds directly into the structure where the unit was operating, resulting in a massive internal explosion and heavy casualties. Fighters then observed the arrival of Israeli helicopters for emergency evacuation.
Strategic Message: The Resistance Remains Embedded and Unbroken
This ambush is not just a tactical success — it is a message to the world: Rafah is not a safe zone for the occupier. Even under siege, Gaza’s resistance remains agile, fortified, and deeply rooted in its terrain — above and below ground.
As the occupation ramps up its brutality in Rafah, targeting displaced families and civilian shelters, the Al-Qassam Brigades demonstrate that they are neither outgunned nor outmaneuvered. In fact, their ability to draw occupation troops into ambushes reflects an advanced level of strategic discipline and battlefield intelligence.
Final Thought: The Earth Will Not Be Quiet Under Their Boots
As the world watches Rafah under fire and Western leaders remain complicit, the resistance in Gaza continues to write history in the language of courage. This is not a battle between two armies — it is a confrontation between colonial machinery and indigenous faith, between iron injustice and a people whose hearts burn with the fire of truth.
Al-Qassam’s message is simple:
We may be outnumbered, but we are not outwilled. This land recognises its sons — and buries its invaders.
