The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced it had carried out a sophisticated ambush targeting Israeli occupation forces near the border fence in the Al-Farahin area, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
According to the statement, Qassam fighters targeted an Israeli engineering unit with an anti-personnel explosive device, followed by close-range engagements using automatic weapons, resulting in multiple casualties among the enemy troops.
The group further stated that following the ambush, its fighters struck two Israeli tanks and a military bulldozer with Yasin-105 anti-armor projectiles, inflicting direct hits near the separation fence.

Expanded Gaza Operations: Multiple Ambushes in Rafah
In addition to the Khan Younis operation, Al-Qassam revealed details of a series of deadly traps it had laid for occupation forces in eastern Rafah, specifically around Al-Zahraa Mosque in Al-Jeneina neighborhood.
There, Qassam fighters lured another engineering unit into a booby-trapped tunnel entrance, engaging them in point-blank combat before detonating the rigged tunnel, killing and injuring numerous soldiers. As the enemy advanced, two more Israeli tanks were hit with Yasin-105 launchers.
Fighters were seen on surveillance footage evacuating enemy dead and wounded under heavy fire.
Multiple IED and Trap Attacks
Al-Qassam also reported:
-
- A rigged house detonated on an Israeli foot patrol in Al-Jeneina, killing and wounding several troops.
-
- An anti-personnel IED exploded beneath a six-man Israeli unit, again in Al-Jeneina, with similar devastating effects.
Israeli Military Confirms Losses
The Israeli military confirmed the death of two soldiers—an officer and a combat engineer—and the injury of three others in separate incidents across Gaza in the past 24 hours.
This includes:
-
- Fatalities in southern Gaza, linked to tunnel combat.
-
- An additional seriously wounded reservist from Battalion 7007 in northern Gaza.
-
- Two injured tank crew members in Al-Tuffah, east of Gaza City, after a faulty shell exploded inside their tank.
According to official data, over 850 Israeli soldiers and officers have been killed since October 7, 2023, including 410 fatalities since the ground invasion of Gaza began. The death toll includes troops lost in Gaza, the West Bank, and southern Lebanon.
The Resistance Holds Firm
Despite Israel’s overwhelming firepower and its genocidal campaign in Gaza, Palestinian resistance factions—particularly Al-Qassam—continue to operate with precision, courage, and conviction, turning Gaza into a graveyard for occupation soldiers.
Their asymmetric warfare tactics, including tunnels, IEDs, and direct ambushes, have thwarted Israel’s military goals, while boosting morale across the Palestinian street and the broader Ummah.
