The hyena is a mammal from the canine family. It has front legs longer than its hind legs. It feeds on dead bodies. It has a very strong sense of smell, which it uses to detect prey, and it often attacks humans and livestock.
These animals produce laughing sounds and sleep during the day, waking up at night to search for food.

Many people are unaware that it is necessary to bury a dead hyena in an official police report, for several reasons:
- They are used for drug smuggling: You may not know that hyena skin can fetch a price of over $50,000. This skin is used in drug smuggling because it does not show up on scanners. Not everything inside this skin is detected. Therefore, the police and gendarmerie try to prevent this skin from reaching drug dealers. When the police heard about a hyena death in the area, they immediately surrounded the area. Today, there are special records to monitor the number of hyenas in each area.
- They are used in black magic: Some parts of a hyena’s brain are used by sorcerers for performing magic, especially what is called black magic. It was famous in the past that hyena bones and corpses were sought after by anyone practising magic because they have a strong and effective impact on magic. As for it, countries have imposed severe penalties on anyone possessing parts of a hyena.
- They are used to induce madness in humans: Hyena brain fluid is used to induce madness in anyone who consumes it. Many tribes in the past were famous for seeking live hyenas to slaughter them and obtain this fluid. Kings were the most famous among those which led them to use it against those under their rule.
- Urine is used to repel dogs: When dogs smell the urine of a hyena, they flee the area. And if a donkey smells the approaching hyena’s scent, it dies immediately from fear. Hyenas have a very foul odour, especially their urine, which is repulsive to other animals. Animals fear the arrival of the hyena because it eats its prey before its death and causes severe bleeding, exposing it to torture before eating it.
It also emits an odour that makes humans follow it until they feel lonely and then kill themselves. This was prevalent among Arab stories in the past.
Why is the hyena considered a symbol of evil among humans
For several reasons in the human mind, which has led this animal to extinction. The hyena is an animal that lives on carrion and eats what is dead and rotten, making it unacceptable to humans. The hyena eats its prey while it is still alive, unlike other predators, making it a despicable animal. Hyenas do not give humans a chance to attack them, making them one of the animals that betray humans and are described as treacherous. Hyenas emit a disgusting sound to humans, making them hate humans, and they are animals that humans do not want. Watch their undesirable shape.
