“We do not support Palestine, but we support Israel.” Branches of McDonald’s in Israel have warned against spreading false information about their support for Palestinians, affirming their recent increased efforts to support the Israeli economy and the army.
In a statement on the X platform, the Israeli branch stated that it has opened five restaurants exclusively for this purpose, along with a 50% discount on meals for security and rescue forces. Additionally, it claimed to have actively contributed to more than a hundred thousand meals for security forces, local residents, and hospitals since the declaration of war on Gaza.
Countries in the “Islamic Arab” region supporting the massacre
Activists shared a video showing Turki Al-Sheikh, the head of the General Entertainment Authority, promoting free meals from McDonald’s and inviting people to visit the restaurant during the Riyadh Season events.
In the video, Al-Sheikh stated that McDonald’s is an official partner in Riyadh Season 2023, offering a “buy one, get one free” deal.
This comes at a time when the Arab world witnesses a campaign to boycott all products, shops, and restaurants that support the Israeli occupation. McDonald’s was one of the first restaurants to be boycotted after images surfaced showing the distribution of its meals to occupation soldiers.
The video by Al-Sheikh, later deleted with only a tweet conveying the same message, sparked anger among social media users, considering it a promotional video and an attempt by Saudi authorities to save companies that support the Israeli occupation amid a Saudi boycott campaign.
