After his revelation at age thirty, Prophet Jesus, may peace be upon him, lived on earth for about three years. He used to travel from place to place calling people to the proper worship of God. He was so detached from the worldly matters that he did not worry that he did not have a house to return to at night. He used to sleep wherever the night would fall on him, whether he was in an open land or in a sheltered place. He wore clothing made out of unwoven wool. He ate from the raw plants of the earth like dandelion, without desiring to cook them. He did not marry or have children.
Prophet Jesus is still alive–in the second sky–worshipping God. He lives there like the angels. He does not eat or drink. He worships God and prays and does not get tired. He will descend to earth before the Day of Judgment and his descent will be one of the great signs of the nearing of that Day. Prophet Muhammad informed us that Jesus will descend to earth at a place on the eastern side of Damascus, with his hands on the wings of two angels.
Images are for the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus and one of its Minaret known by Minaret of ^Isa (Jesus). It is the tallest of the three minarets in this great mosque. God knows where exactly Prophet Jesus will descend–whether at a white lighthouse built near the airport in eastern Damascus, near the Minaret of Jesus or somewhere else eastern of Damascus.
