The news channel “KAN” reported citing fighters and other sources within the Israeli occupation army, that soldiers were targeted in attacks carried out by stray dog groups inside the Gaza Strip over the past few days.
The report indicated that hundreds of wild canines approached the soldiers in military gathering areas in the northern Gaza Strip, noting that no Israeli soldier was reported injured by the dogs. The fighters on the ground described the dogs as excessively aggressive, “growling and baring their teeth as they approached and attempted to bite the forces.”

Hundreds of stray dogs have entered Israel from the Gaza Strip since the war began on October 7, 2023, with the Israeli Nature and Parks Authority being “helpless” to do anything about it, according to Israeli media reports.
1000 Dogs Entered Israel
Kobi Sofer, inspector of the Israeli Health Care Institute in the northern Gaza border area, estimated that 1000 dogs had entered Israel since then, with reports of packs attempting to hunt deer and intimidate soldiers.
The “Nature and Parks Authority” estimated that over a thousand stray dogs had infiltrated from the Gaza Strip into Israel, noting that they prey on wild animals, especially farm animals. The authority also pointed out that “many dogs have preyed on calves in kibbutz barns near the Gaza envelope, and they are now attacking soldiers.”
Israel’s official broadcasting authority quoted the official in the Nature and Parks Authority, Yehoshua Shakidi, as saying: “We warn that we must address the phenomenon of stray dogs, there is no choice but to shoot them, and there has been a tragedy for a girl from the Bedouin community who was bitten to death.”
