Someone asked us this question:
“Can I keep some days of Ramadan fasting on Mekkah time, such as not such a hot weather, while living in Moscow? Or, depending on whether the bother stomach and pancreas in certain days (I have a chronic illness)”.
The Answer
A person must fast according the country they are living in. A person living in Moscow must fast according to Moscow time, breaking the fast must be after sunset in Moscow and if someone is living in Makkah they fast according to Makkah time.
If you have a sickness that will prevent you from fasting, meaning if you fast you will be harmed severely, then you can break the fast and make up the missed days (IF ABLE) after Ramadan.
If cannot make up the missed days in Qada’ (due to permanent sickness), then for each missed day you give a poor person one mudd (two cupped, average-sized handfuls of the most common staple food of the country, for each day missed.
If you can take the medicine at night, fine, then you can fast during the day and after sunset you break your fast and then take the medicine. But taking medicine in the day of Ramadan invalidates the fast.
May Allah accept your good deeds.
