The Israeli military is preparing for the possibility of launching another military operation against Iran following the conclusion of Operation “Lion’s Roar”, either with US military participation or independently, according to Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom.
The newspaper reported that the Israeli military does not intend to stop at what it achieved during the latest operation and has begun preparing plans for another campaign on the Iranian front.
The preparations are taking place alongside continued intelligence and operational coordination between the Israeli and US militaries.
According to the report, American officers are currently stationed in Israel, while Israeli officers are present in the United States. At the same time, preparations are being made for Israel to carry out an independent operation should developments require it.
Iran Warns a New War Would “Burn Everyone”
In response, Chief of the General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces and commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Ali Abdollahi, warned that any new war against Iran would “burn everyone”, stressing that the Iranian armed forces are prepared to confront any threat.
In a statement, Abdollahi said the “imposed and unjust wars” launched against Iran by the US president and the Israeli prime minister had “ended in failure”.
He argued that the US president and Israeli prime minister are facing crises across several fronts and are attempting to push towards another war by invoking what he described as the “big lie” that Iran is seeking to acquire a nuclear weapon, while simultaneously portraying the country as weakened.
Abdollahi said Tehran “has not waited and will not wait for the results of the US congressional elections”, adding that American voters would ultimately judge what he described as President Donald Trump’s “lies” at the ballot box.
Tehran Threatens US Interests if Iran Is Attacked
Abdollahi stressed that Iran’s armed forces would respond to any renewed attack, regardless of whether it occurred before or after the US elections and irrespective of their outcome.
He warned that if Trump or Israel carried out any military action against Iran, the Iranian armed forces would “immediately, severely, powerfully and painfully target American interests without restrictions”.
Abdollahi also called on countries hosting US troops in the region to reconsider their presence.
He described the American military presence as “the main factor behind insecurity in the region and the emergence of economic problems”.
“As long as this presence continues, insecurity will continue,” he said, warning that any new war against Iran would see its consequences spread far beyond the immediate battlefield.
Iran Rejects Claims Over Its Nuclear Programme
Abdollahi also criticised what he described as claims that Iran’s nuclear programme had entered an “advanced stage”, reiterating Tehran’s position that the programme is peaceful.
He accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom he described as a “criminal”, of attacking Iran’s nuclear programme while Israel itself possesses a nuclear arsenal.
Abdollahi called this “a mockery of international law”, arguing that Israel itself had failed to abide by those laws.
He also warned international organisations, particularly the International Atomic Energy Agency, against continuing what he called “baseless statements” concerning Iranian nuclear facilities.
Abdollahi concluded by declaring that Iran is “stronger than ever”, saying its armed forces are fully prepared to confront any threat, regardless of its nature or scale.
