Iran’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the United Arab Emirates, warning that the visit could carry serious consequences for regional security.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ministry denounced “the visit to the UAE by Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Zionist entity, who kills children and instigates wars”, and warned of what it described as its dangerous repercussions.
The ministry said the visit comes at a time when West Asia is experiencing “one of the most fragile and sensitive periods in its history”, citing Israeli military aggression against Iran and what it described as the intensification of occupation and genocide in occupied territories, particularly Palestine and Lebanon.
“At a time when the West Asian region is passing through one of the most fragile and sensitive periods in its history due to the Zionist entity’s military aggression against Iran and the intensification of occupation and genocide in the occupied territories, particularly Palestine and Lebanon, the presence in the UAE of a criminal whose hands are stained with the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent people and who is being tried before international courts is extremely dangerous and concerning,” the statement said.
Iran Warns of Regional Consequences
The ministry said that given what it described as Israel’s established hostility towards Iran and other countries in the region, as well as repeated Israeli threats against the Islamic Republic, regional governments should remain alert to the consequences of Netanyahu’s visit.
“Given the proven hostility of the Zionist regime towards Iran and other countries in the region, and the repeated threats made by the regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran, all countries in the region must beware of the consequences and repercussions of such a visit, which threatens collective peace and security in the region,” the statement said.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry stressed that regional security is collective and indivisible, warning that any move that facilitates the entry of hostile actors into the region would ultimately harm all regional states.
“Regional security is a collective and indivisible matter, and any action that creates the conditions for hostile parties to enter the region will ultimately harm all its countries, leading to division and further insecurity and instability in West Asia,” it said.
Tehran Urges Regional Governments to Prevent Destabilising Activity
The ministry concluded by calling on governments across the region to recognise what it described as their responsibility towards regional peace and stability.
It urged them not to facilitate an Israeli presence that Iran regards as destructive, and warned against allowing their territory to be used as a platform for actions targeting neighbouring states.
“The governments of the region are expected to recognise their responsibility towards regional peace and stability, refrain from providing the conditions for the destructive presence of the Zionist entity, and not allow the territories of regional states to become a platform for destabilising actions against other countries in the region,” the ministry said.
