Israel’s Channel 14 has reported, citing a senior Emirati source, that representatives from Saudi Arabia joined an expanded meeting held after talks between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed.
According to the source, Netanyahu initiated the meeting, which was divided into two parts. The first brought together Netanyahu and bin Zayed alongside Israeli and Emirati representatives, while representatives from other Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, joined the second part.
Security Cooperation and a Regional Alliance
The Emirati source said the discussions covered security cooperation, including defence systems such as Iron Dome, the war involving Iran and the Houthis, and the formation of a regional alliance.
Channel 14 reported that the Israeli ambassador to the UAE, Yossi Shelley, is responsible on the Israeli side for advancing this initiative.
The reported Saudi participation is based on Channel 14’s account and its unnamed senior Emirati source. The Israeli channel described Saudi representatives as joining officials from other Arab states during the expanded second stage of the meeting.
