An Israeli newspaper has highlighted exclusive satellite imagery published by CNN, claiming it shows signs that Iran has begun restoring parts of its nuclear facilities months after American and Israeli strikes targeted military and nuclear sites across the country.
According to Maariv, the images, obtained by CNN from satellite imagery company Fantor, show activity at several Iranian nuclear facilities. The report says the work suggests Tehran is attempting to restore capabilities that were damaged during the American and Israeli attacks.
The newspaper said the images add to a growing number of recent Western media reports pointing to Iranian efforts to rebuild both its military and nuclear capabilities despite the strikes that targeted key elements of its nuclear infrastructure.
Missile Bases Reportedly Restored
In the same report, Maariv referred to earlier reports published in early June, which claimed Iran had succeeded in restoring a significant portion of the operational infrastructure at missile bases previously targeted by American airstrikes.
It added that recent satellite imagery and geospatial analysis indicate Iranian engineering and maintenance teams were able to reopen most tunnel entrances that had been sealed or damaged during the bombing campaign. According to those reports, this enabled large sections of Iran’s missile bases to be reconnected to road networks and military operational routes.
Questions Over the Effectiveness of the Strikes
The newspaper also noted that CNN published a report in May, based on newly obtained satellite imagery, concluding that Iran had regained access to large quantities of missiles stored in underground facilities following extensive repair work.
According to Maariv, these developments raise fresh questions about the effectiveness of the American and Israeli air campaign in eliminating Iran’s military capabilities, particularly those housed in heavily fortified underground facilities.
The report also casts doubt on previous statements by US President Donald Trump, who claimed that Iran’s military arsenal had been almost completely destroyed.
Maariv concluded that, if the reported reconstruction efforts are fully confirmed, they demonstrate Iran’s engineering and logistical capacity to restore parts of its military infrastructure within a relatively short period despite ongoing sanctions, military pressure and repeated attacks on its facilities.
