The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, has released footage it says documents the final moments of one of its fighters during an ambush targeting Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip.
According to the Al-Qassam Brigades, the fighter, Hamdi Mohammed Abu Taha from Khan Younis, took part in combat operations during the Al-Aqsa Flood battle, targeting Israeli military vehicles advancing into the Gaza Strip.
The footage shows Abu Taha emerging from a tunnel alongside another fighter before firing a projectile towards Israeli military vehicles. Al-Qassam said the attack struck the vehicles and set them on fire.
The footage also documented clashes that erupted following the attack. According to Al-Qassam, Abu Taha was killed on 30 September 2024 while returning to the tunnel after being wounded during confrontations with Israeli occupation forces.
Al-Qassam said Abu Taha was born on 10 February 1997 and served as a fighter with the southern Osama bin Zaid Battalion of the Khan Younis Brigade.
Since the outbreak of the war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, the Al-Qassam Brigades have regularly released footage documenting their military operations, including ambushes and attacks targeting Israeli troops and military vehicles in areas of occupation ground incursions across the Strip.
