Israeli media have reported a security incident in southern Lebanon after an explosive device targeted the field headquarters of the deputy commander of the Israeli occupation army’s Commando Brigade in the border town of Aita Al Shaab.
According to Israeli media, the explosion wounded two reserve soldiers from the unit, one critically and the other moderately. Both were evacuated from the scene by helicopter.
Israeli reports also stated that the headquarters targeted in the attack was being used by senior Israeli military officers operating in southern Lebanon.
Earlier today, a Hezbollah resistance fighter also engaged an Israeli force in the southern town of Deir Siryan. The confrontation reportedly resulted in the death of an Israeli officer and the injury of another soldier.
The Israeli occupation army continues its attacks across southern Lebanon through air strikes carried out by fighter jets and drones, the dropping of explosive munitions from aircraft, artillery shelling and ground incursions. These operations have also involved setting fires and demolishing homes with explosives, despite the existing framework agreement between the Lebanese government and the Israeli occupation authorities.
