The Iranian news agency Tasnim News Agency, closely affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, published statements on Monday evening attributed to a military source containing direct threats against the United Arab Emirates. The remarks came in response to what the agency described as circulating “claims and threats” reported across various media platforms.
The source stated that Tehran has not received any official threat from the UAE, framing the current discourse as media-driven and based on unofficial channels. However, the tone sharply shifted with a warning that any transformation of the UAE into what was described as a tool in the hands of Israel would be met with a severe response. The source added that such a move would result in consequences the UAE “would never forget”.
Direct Warnings Target Strategic and Economic Interests
According to the same source, any “irrational action” by the UAE would render all of its interests legitimate targets for Iran, stressing that no location within Emirati infrastructure would be beyond reach. The statement underscored a willingness to expand targeting parameters across critical assets.
In an explicitly escalatory tone, the source described the UAE as “sitting in a fragile glass house”, warning that instability poses an existential threat to its structure. It also referenced what was termed the “mistake of the forty-day war”, cautioning against repeating similar actions.
The source further indicated that Tehran may abandon its current posture of restraint and shift its strategic classification of the UAE, stating it could begin to treat the country as part of the Israeli entity should confrontation intensify.
Context: Diplomatic Fallout Following Fujairah Incident
These statements followed a strong condemnation by the UAE of Iran’s reported targeting of an industrial area near the Port of Fujairah. Regional media have since circulated warnings suggesting that Abu Dhabi may respond directly or seek coordinated military action involving the United States and Israel.
