When “Israel” enters into ceasefire agreements, it does so with the next round of conflict already in mind. In the cases of Lebanon and Gaza, this strategy goes even further: ceasefires are used as opportunities to actively pursue military and political objectives, while the opposing side is left trapped in a dilemma.
In the short term, the Zionist regime views its ceasefire agreements as a net positive. This is evident in both the timing of these agreements and the manner in which they are implemented—or, in some cases, not implemented at all. So far, “Israel” has violated the Gaza ceasefire around 3,000 times officially. As for in Lebanon, we are now rapidly approaching the 10,000 violation milestone.
There is simply no other example in recent memory that comes close to the number of violations committed by the Zionist entity, both in Gaza since October 10, 2025 and in Lebanon since November 27, 2024.
So what are these agreements?
These ceasefire agreements are not actually ceasefires in the conventional meaning of the word. They emerge from a perceived stalemate on the ground, evidently reducing the overall scale of destruction, but allow the militarily superior side to continue operating in a manner that sets new rules of engagement.
What is key to understand, regarding these deals is the mentality shift undergone by Israelis since October 7, 2023. Faced with the collapse of its southern command, at the hands of a few thousand Palestinian fighters armed only with light weapons – most domestically produced – the Zionist nightmare had arrived.
Instead of maintaining frozen conflicts across various fronts, the Zionist entity decided to accelerate its project to seize control of the entire region – from the Euphrates to Nile. In order to complete this mission, the total defeat on the Iranian-led Axis of Resistance has to be achieved. If successful, it will create a unipolar order in West Asia and thus the end goal of the so-called “Greater Israel” can be easily achieved.
This is why the Israelis have fought to collapse the United Nations, burn the Geneva Conventions and through their current puppet regime in the White House, have managed to find success in this project. They seek to normalise genocidal assaults, the breakdown of all international norms and undo an order that enables the Cold War to pass without nuclear war breaking out. But more on the international order later.
If we analyze the two ceasefire agreements in place, the first place to start is the stakes in the lead up to the deals.
In Lebanon, Hezbollah and the Zionist military were on the verge of escalating to an all-out-war on both sides. Hezbollah had just demonstrated its ability to hit high-rise buildings in “Tel Aviv”, whereas the Israelis were preparing to expand their zones of destruction; especially in Beirut. On the ground, the Israelis failed to make any significant gains and were instead suffering notably casualties also.
In Gaza, after two years of carrying out genocide, they failed to achieve any significant military objectives and the Palestinian resistance was continuing to kill their soldiers in deadly ambushes. Meanwhile, the so-called international community had rallied behind the Saudi-French “New York Declaration” initiative that called for a ceasefire with a path to Palestinian Statehood.
A United Nations General Assembly resolution was unanimously passed to this effect, as the Israelis vowed to “occupy Gaza City” under their “Operation Gideon’s Chariots 2”, an operation that was projected to take up to a decade to complete and would require nearly 200,000 soldiers to be deployed to the besieged territory. At this stage, the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” privatised death trap scheme was already collapsing, after resulting in the murder of 2,000+ civilians.
In both cases, the choice was between escalation – with no guarantee of success and no clear framework for victory – or bringing the front to a temporary lull. The Israeli military had been suffering from a lack of motivation amongst its troops, struggling to find the numbers to complete its never ending tasks and needed time to repair damaged military equipment. Going all in on any front could have exposed them to others, especially when the main prize has always been inflicting regime change in Tehran.
Through accepting the ceasefire agreements, the Zionist regime could continue low intensity military operations, expending minimal resources, fortifying sensitive areas, restocking depleted munitions storages, importing more air defence assets and could do all of this without any negative coverage in the media. When Israelis are being killed, the Western media goes crazy, but when Lebanese or Palestinians are slaughtered, the racist corporate outlets don’t bat an eye.
The gains therefore were seen as numerous. Less bad PR, while Zionist billionaire’s work to consolidate media control, Western governments are lobbied to hunt down critics against “Israel”, and social media becomes even more censored.
They also put both Hamas and Hezbollah in very difficult predicaments, if they choose to respond to frequent civilian massacres, demolition of homes, violations of sovereignty, blocking of reconstruction and aid supplies, then they are blamed for collapsing the ceasefire. Or, if the Zionist entity chooses to keep the agreement in a de facto state of semi-existence – where only the Israelis are allowed to fire – then the Zionist military can inflict huge massacres and then return to the status quo.
The Israelis will not allow a return to the pre-October 7 reality, where Hezbollah and Hamas are able to respond to provocations, thus setting up an equation of mutual deterrence. Understanding that deterrence equations no longer exist, Hezbollah and the Palestinian Resistance are placed in a position whereby they have two options: Allow the status quo to persist, or wage an all-out-war.
Additionally, the Israelis have made significant gains on the diplomatic front. Donald Trump’s colonial-style “Board of Peace” (BoP), was only possible off the back of the Gaza ceasefire deal. Then its birth certificate was issued by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), in resolution – 2803 – that was all about Gaza and the US President’s alleged “peace plan”.
Then came the BoP’s charter, which did not mention Gaza or Palestine once and doesn’t have a single Palestinian as a member. Instead, the BoP is now operating internationally, an attempt to formulate a new – explicitly Zionist and American imperialist – UN type system.
As expected, this BoP is not interested in developing the Gaza ceasefire, which it allows to be stalled to the exclusive benefit of the Israelis, while it counters the UN system. What has happened is that the Israelis have effectively collapsed the UN and allowed for a new system to take its place, one that cannot be contested due to the military superiority of the United States.
The problem they will experience is that this vision has no longevity, it simply seeks to impose an order which works on the basis of “might makes right,” inevitably leading to further conflict on all fronts.
