Saudi media outlets broadcast a video showing the moment a police officer at the Grand Mosque in Makkah rescued a person who attempted to commit suicide inside the mosque.
The video shows an individual throwing himself from the upper levels of the Grand Mosque, before a security officer from the Special Forces for the Security of the Grand Mosque rushed to intervene, managing to save him and reduce the severity of the fall.
At a later time, the Makkah Police confirmed the incident and issued a statement saying that the security officer was also injured while attempting to prevent the person from hitting the ground.
The statement clarified that both individuals were transferred to a hospital to receive the necessary medical care and to complete the required legal procedures.
