They say “Islam is violent. The Qur’an promotes terrorism.”
These are accusations echoed in media, pulpits, and political speeches across the Western world. And yet, very few who make these claims have opened the Qur’an with sincerity — or the Bible with honesty.
This article is not a smear. It is an invitation.
An invitation to anyone who has ever asked: “Is Islam really the problem?”
Before you judge the Qur’an, read your own scripture. Not the verses chosen for Sunday sermons, but the ones hidden between the pages — the ones that call for genocide, infanticide, and collective slaughter. The ones rarely discussed, but clearly printed.
The Commands to Kill: Straight from the Bible
1. The Massacre of Amalek
“Now go, attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have. Do not spare them; but kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.”— 1 Samuel 15:3
A divine order to kill everyone: men, women, infants, even animals. This isn’t allegory. It’s direct, and it’s framed as obedience to God.
2. Public Executions in the Name of Kingship
“But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me.”— Luke 19:27
This quote, attributed to Jesus in a parable, envisions violent vengeance on political dissenters. Imagine if such a verse existed in the Qur’an — how would it be portrayed?
3. Kill Anyone Who Comes Near the Tabernacle
“The stranger that comes near shall be put to death.”— Numbers 1:51
Merely approaching a sacred tent without permission is punishable by execution.
4. Kill the Disobedient Without Trial
“Whosoever will not hearken unto thy words … shall be put to death.”— Deuteronomy 18:19
“Whoever disobeys Joshua must be killed.”— Joshua 1:18
Obedience isn’t optional. In these verses, disobedience equals death — regardless of age, circumstance, or repentance.
5. Burn Entire Cities That Follow Other Gods
“You must certainly put to the sword all who live in that town. Destroy it completely, both its people and its livestock.”— Deuteronomy 13:15
Even entire populations are not spared when labeled as idolaters.
The Qur’an in Comparison: Clarity, Restraint, Justice
Islam does not deny war. But it does define it, restrain it, and limit it by ethics. Here are clear examples:
1. Do Not Kill Innocents
“Whoever kills a soul… it is as if he had slain all mankind.”— Qur’an 5:32
2. War Is Only for Defense
“Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not love transgressors.”— Qur’an 2:190
3. Stop When the Enemy Stops
“And if they incline to peace, then incline to it also.”— Qur’an 8:61
4. Justice Applies Even to Enemies
“Do not let hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness.”— Qur’an 5:8
Islam’s rules of warfare forbid:

- Killing women, children, monks, or the elderly

- Destroying crops or places of worship

- Torturing prisoners
These aren’t modern additions. They come directly from the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and his companions, centuries before the Geneva Conventions.

The difference is: Islam contextualises its verses. It applies law, ethics, and justice. Most Christian discourse ignores the violence altogether.
We invite you to look into the both scriptures honestly. Ask: Which text permits genocide? Ask: Which Prophet tortured no one, even when victorious? Ask: Which book says justice is for all, even enemies?
