Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Monday that his government has “changed the face of the Middle East,” reiterating his hardline stance against what he described as attempts to establish a so-called “caliphate” on the shores of the Mediterranean.
In a new set of public remarks, Netanyahu stated:
“I’ve said repeatedly — we will reshape the Middle East. This is exactly what we are doing now. Thanks to the decisions and resilience of my government, we have shattered the axis of evil in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and other locations. We know our enemy well, and we will never accept the rise of a caliphate here or in Lebanon. We are working to secure Israel’s future.”
Referring to his actions in the current war on Gaza and beyond, Netanyahu added:
“Just two days after the war began, I said — and nobody believed me — that we would change the face of the region. That is precisely what we have done.”
He credited what he called his government’s “wise decisions” with striking blows to regional resistance movements.
“There is no more [Hassan] Nasrallah, no [Ismail] Haniyeh, no Yahya Sinwar, and no Mohammed Deif,” he claimed, referencing leaders of Hezbollah and Hamas — several of whom remain active.
Netanyahu — who is currently facing potential indictment by the International Criminal Court — further warned that Israel would not allow the emergence of any Islamic governance model near its borders, particularly one he labeled as a “caliphate.”
He threatened to strike at “every front” that could pose a threat to Israel, explicitly naming Lebanon and Yemen as regions of concern.
Addressing the situation in Gaza, Netanyahu declared:
“We will dismantle Hamas in Gaza, return the hostages, and accomplish all of our objectives.”
