The owner of the house where the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas,” Yahya Al-Sinwar, was martyred during his clash with the Israeli occupation forces, expressed his “pride” that the Palestinian leader passed through his home during his final battle.
Activists indicated that the house, located on Ibn Sina Street in the Sultan neighborhood, west of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip, belongs to the “Abu Taha” family, who were forced to leave it due to the ongoing Israeli aggression.
In a post on his Instagram story, Palestinian Mohammad Sami Abu Taha said, “Al-Sinwar took refuge in a house that belongs to our Abu Taha family, and he ascended as a steadfast fighter defending until his last breath.”
He added, “We are proud of him and everyone who walks this path, sacrificing for the sake of truth.” He continued, “For this cause, our lives, homes, and everything we possess become insignificant,” reflecting his deep sense of pride.
At the same time, another Instagram account, apparently owned by a member of the “Abu Taha” family, confirmed that the house where Al-Sinwar was martyred belonged to them.
The account shared several photos of the house before the extensive destruction it suffered due to the heavy Israeli bombardment on the Gaza Strip, which has been ongoing since the start of the genocidal war on October 7, 2023.
The account captioned the photos, saying, “Our home gained more honor and pride with Abu Ibrahim, the persistent leader.” It added, “We thank Allah for granting us this honor.”
On Friday, a member of the Hamas political bureau, Khalil Al-Hayya, officially announced the martyrdom of the head of the movement’s political bureau, Yahya Al-Sinwar, after a confrontation with the occupation forces in Rafah city.
This announcement came after Israeli officials, including Benjamin Netanyahu, confirmed on Thursday evening the martyrdom of Al-Sinwar, whom the Israeli occupation had been unable to reach throughout a year of aggression in the Gaza Strip.
Many political forces in the Arab world and resistance movements, including Hezbollah in Lebanon and Ansar Allah “Houthis” in Yemen, mourned the head of Hamas’ political bureau, Yahya Al-Sinwar, who was regarded as the mastermind behind the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, which inflicted historic losses on the occupation on October 7, 2023.
It is noteworthy that Hamas had announced on August 6 that Al-Sinwar was appointed as the head of its political bureau, succeeding the martyr Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated by the Israeli occupation at his residence during a visit to the Iranian capital, Tehran, at the end of July.
