Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has revealed that Tehran is preparing a plan to address the brutal Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that “some countries are determined to negotiate over Gaza without considering the wishes of the Palestinians or the positions of Iran.”
In statements made to Iranian television, Araghchi said, “Regarding the determination of some countries to pursue ceasefire negotiations in Gaza without taking into account the desires of the Palestinian people and regardless of Iran’s stance, our foreign policy will seek to intervene actively in this area.”
He further explained that he has instructed officials at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to develop a plan in this regard, adding, “We hope to have a specific plan and to act based on that plan, so the whole world acknowledges Iran’s role on the ground, as well as its political presence and influence.”
Araghchi continued, “We will undoubtedly support the people of Lebanon, the oppressed people of Palestine, especially in Gaza, the people of Yemen, and in any other place in the Islamic world, particularly in the region of the Jerusalem axis. Resistance will remain a core element of the Fourteenth Government’s unwavering policies.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister pointed out that “the issue of the resistance axis is fundamentally inseparable from the conflict with the United States,” explaining that “this resistance axis was formed based on a set of ideals and has its own school of thought, which will be supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran in any situation.”
He added, “Some of our conflicts with the United States are irreconcilable, as the principles we believe in do not allow for the resolution of these conflicts. Therefore, when we face this conflict, our task is to manage it.”
In earlier remarks, Araghchi stated that “Tehran seeks to manage the conflict with the United States, not resolve it,” noting that the revival of the nuclear deal and the negotiations to lift sanctions have become increasingly difficult.
He also stressed to his British and French counterparts “Iran’s right to respond to the criminal and terrorist act committed by the Zionist entity in Tehran,” referring to the assassination of the elected Palestinian Prime Minister and Head of Hamas’ Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, on July 31st in Tehran.
