US President Donald Trump has declared his intention to push Iran back to “the Stone Age”, signalling that military operations could continue for the previously indicated timeframe of two to three weeks as part of completing declared objectives.
Speaking on Thursday, Trump stated that Iran “no longer truly poses a threat”, adding: “We have all the cards and they have no cards… we can strike their oil.” He confirmed that ongoing discussions are taking place and warned that the United States would launch “very powerful strikes” within the coming two to three weeks.
Military Objectives Near Completion
Trump asserted that the United States is “on the right track to complete all American military objectives… very soon”, emphasising that once the conflict ends, the Strait of Hormuz will reopen as normal.
He further claimed that Iran has been “almost completely destroyed”, stating that “the hardest part is over”, and insisted that the United States neither needed nor would need the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump added: “We will finish the mission and we will finish it very quickly”, stressing that core strategic objectives are close to being achieved.
Energy, Oil Routes, and Global Responsibility
Addressing global energy dynamics, Trump said that countries importing oil through the Strait of Hormuz must take responsibility for protecting the vital maritime corridor.
He reiterated that the United States does not import oil through the strait and will not require it in the future. He also attributed recent fuel price increases to Iran, accusing its leadership of causing disruptions through attacks on oil tankers, while maintaining that the rise in petrol prices within the United States would be short term.
Nuclear Programme and Strategic Operations
Trump stated that Iran cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons under any circumstances, adding: “We are very close.” He said that the United States is conducting a systematic dismantling of Iran’s capabilities that threaten its national security, claiming that Tehran had no intention of abandoning its nuclear ambitions.
He further alleged that Iran attempted to rebuild its nuclear programme at a secret and entirely different site.
Claims of Military and Structural Collapse
Trump described it as “an honour” to have ended the previous nuclear agreement with Iran, and claimed that most leaders of what he described as the Iranian regime had been killed in recent military operations.
He alleged that the Iranian government had killed 45,000 of its own citizens, and claimed that Iran’s naval forces had been completely neutralised while its air force was in a state of total destruction.
He added that Iran has spent 47 years chanting hostility towards the United States and Israel, asserting that American forces have achieved rapid and decisive victories over the past four weeks.
Closing Remarks
Trump concluded by stating that the United States is now “winning more than ever before”, describing Iran as the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism and claiming that its naval forces have effectively disappeared.
