Israeli media have reported casualties among occupation soldiers, including both fatalities and injuries, following intense clashes in southern Lebanon over the past hours. Despite these developments, the occupation authorities have imposed strict censorship, withholding key details of the incident and preventing media outlets from publishing further information.
Lebanese platforms indicated that a unit of the occupation army fell into a carefully planned ambush near the town of Nabatieh in southern Lebanon, suggesting a high level of coordination and preparedness by Hezbollah forces on the ground.
Confirmed Casualties and Ongoing Engagements
The occupation army has acknowledged the deaths of six soldiers and the injuries of 16 others since the start of the confrontations along the Lebanese front. In total, more than 60 personnel, including officers, have reportedly been wounded during the ongoing operations.
On Monday, the Israeli military also announced that one soldier sustained critical injuries due to what it described as an “operational incident” in southern Lebanon. Additionally, two other soldiers were moderately injured after a drone crashed near their position in the same area, further highlighting the volatile and unpredictable nature of the battlefield.
Strategic Intent and Escalation on the Ground
In parallel with these developments, Israeli officials told The Wall Street Journal that the army intends to maintain its presence in southern Lebanon indefinitely, until what it described as the elimination of threats posed by Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, Haaretz reported that the military establishment is planning to demolish all Lebanese homes located along the so-called “first line” of border villages, to prevent residents from returning. This signals a broader strategy that extends beyond immediate military objectives and into long-term territorial and demographic control measures.
