Hebrew Channel 12 reported on Sunday that the occupation authorities are holding discussions with Washington over the establishment of American military bases inside occupied Palestine, amid accelerating regional developments and the ongoing war with Iran.
According to the report, the proposal under consideration includes relocating US military bases from other parts of the Middle East into occupied Palestine, alongside the construction of new military facilities. The objective is to capitalise on the growing American military presence in the region and deepen operational coordination between the two sides.
Strategic Coordination Amid Regional Escalation
The report indicates that these discussions are part of broader strategic coordination between the occupation and the United States, driven by shifting regional dynamics and persistent security challenges. While no final decision has been made, the proposals are actively being evaluated within the context of the current escalation.
This development comes as the occupation and the United States have been conducting military strikes against Iran since 28 February, resulting in the deaths of hundreds, including former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior security figures. In response, Tehran has launched missiles and drones toward the occupation, while also targeting what it describes as American interests across Arab countries, leading to casualties and significant damage that have been condemned by affected states.
Existing US Military Presence and Hidden Infrastructure
The prospect of new US bases emerges against the backdrop of an already substantial, though largely undisclosed, American military presence within occupied Palestine.
In a November 2025 report, the Madar Centre for Israeli Studies stated that the US military presence is not limited to small-scale facilities or technical cooperation. Instead, it includes bases, complexes, emergency storage sites, and dedicated structures inside the Israeli military installations, with very limited public disclosure.
The report drew on investigations by Hebrew media outlets, including Yedioth Ahronoth, which highlighted the existence of “Site 512” in the Negev desert. This location reportedly hosts an advanced US early warning radar system, in addition to other classified or semi-classified projects, including underground facilities and integrated compounds inside the Israeli bases.
Deepening Military Integration Between Washington and Tel Aviv
According to the same report, the American presence extends beyond fixed installations to include military construction projects that support the Israeli army, as well as the use of the Port of Haifa for US naval and logistical operations.
This expanding footprint reflects a high level of military, logistical, and intelligence integration between Washington and Tel Aviv. However, many details regarding the exact locations, operational roles, and scale of deployment remain undisclosed, reinforcing the opaque nature of this strategic partnership.
