Israeli occupation aircraft launched a series of airstrikes on towns in southern Lebanon on Friday, resulting in the martyrdom of two people on the morning of the first day of Eid al Fitr, while Hezbollah responded with wide-scale bombardment operations.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes carried out strikes at dawn and in the morning on the towns of Aita al Shaab, Al Sultaniyah, and Hanine in the Bint Jbeil district, as well as Dbaal and Bafliyeh in the Tyre district, and Kfartabnit in the Nabatieh district, alongside heavy artillery shelling targeting towns in the western and central sectors. An airstrike on a house in the town of Bafliyeh led to the martyrdom of two people and the injury of a third.
In response, Hezbollah fighters launched attacks using rockets and loitering drones on multiple Israeli military positions along the border with occupied Palestine. This coincided with the release of footage documenting the targeting of Israeli armored vehicles at Al Fuqani ridge north of the town of Al Taybeh in southern Lebanon, in an operation reminiscent of the Merkava tank losses during the 2006 war.
The scope of the U.S. Israeli war on Iran has regionally expanded to include Lebanon since March 2, following the ongoing aggression launched on February 28 against Tehran, which has resulted in at least 1,332 deaths and more than 15,000 injuries.
