Questions are being raised about the possible involvement of the Israeli occupation state in the bombardment of sensitive targets across countries in the region, including parts of the Arabian Gulf. The speculation comes amid escalating tensions as Iran launches attacks on American bases in response to the war being waged against it.
Observers suggest that such strikes could serve to inflame the conflict further and advance Israeli strategic objectives by widening the theatre of confrontation.
Israel has a long record of carrying out covert attacks and sabotage operations around the world while denying responsibility. In several cases, responsibility has only been acknowledged decades after the events occurred. One widely cited example remains the controversial attack on a Jewish synagogue in Iraq during the 1950s, which critics have pointed to as evidence of Israel’s willingness to employ extreme methods to achieve its objectives.
Who Is Behind the Bombardments Across the Region?
Turkey and Azerbaijan
During the past hours, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Cyprus were reportedly struck by drones and missiles. Initial speculation suggested that Iran was responsible for the attacks as part of its campaign targeting American military installations across the region.
However, both the Iranian army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps denied any connection to the bombardments. At a time when Tehran seeks to demonstrate its military capability and its ability to expand attacks on American interests, the denial has raised further questions about the true source of these mysterious strikes.
Strike on Cyprus
This line of speculation gained further attention after the British Ministry of Defence announced on Wednesday that the drone which struck its military base on the island of Cyprus did not originate from Iran.
The statement raised questions about the origin of the drone and whether Israel could have played a role, particularly given its geographical proximity to Cyprus.
Port Strike in Dubai
A similar scenario emerged in parts of the Gulf. During the ongoing confrontation, activists circulated a video clip of a witness claiming that an aerial strike targeting a seaport in Dubai did not originate from Iran but rather was launched from within Dubai itself.
Ras Tanura Oil Field
Iran’s foreign ministry also denied any involvement in the targeting of the Ras Tanura oil field belonging to Saudi Aramco two days earlier.
According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, a military source claimed that the attack on Aramco facilities on Tuesday had been carried out by Israel as part of what was described as a false flag operation.
Tucker Carlson Raises New Allegations
American media figure Tucker Carlson stirred further controversy when he claimed that the Israeli intelligence service, Mossad, had links to attacks in Gulf countries.
Carlson stated that Israel sought the current war in order to harm Gulf states and had succeeded in doing so. He further claimed that Saudi Arabia and Qatar had recently detained Mossad agents allegedly planning bombings inside the two countries.
According to Carlson, the aim of such operations was to divert the attention of regional governments from Israel’s attacks on civilian sites inside Iran.
He added that Iran had made it clear it would place all American and Israeli interests and facilities in the region under fire without hesitation. Tehran has already targeted several such sites, although Aramco facilities had not been among Iran’s declared targets up to this point.
Carlson also cited intelligence sources suggesting that the port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates could be among the next targets in what he described as potential false flag operations allegedly planned by Tel Aviv.
Historical Evidence of Sabotage Linked to Israel
Various reports and documents point to Israel’s involvement in a long series of covert and often violent operations dating back to the period before its establishment as an occupying state and continuing to the present day.
The British Israeli historian Avi Shlaim revealed in a published book what he described as conclusive evidence linking Israel to attacks targeting Jewish communities in Iraq during the early 1950s.
According to reviews of the work, Shlaim presents documentation suggesting Zionist involvement in terrorist attacks that contributed to the mass migration of Iraqi Jews between 1950 and 1951.
Following extensive personal research, Shlaim concluded that the grenade attack on the Masouda Shemtov synagogue in Baghdad in January 1951 had been orchestrated by Mossad in order to accelerate the transfer of approximately 110,000 Iraqi Jews to Israel, which had only recently been established at the time.
Allegations Surrounding the Death of Raisi
According to the aviation tracking website FlightRadar24, a United States Air Force C 17 aircraft was detected in Azerbaijan. The aircraft reportedly departed towards Israeli airspace around the same time that the helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi disappeared.
Some analysts speculated that the aircraft may have been used to jam communications or interfere with the helicopter, potentially contributing to the crash.
Israel has previously been linked to numerous assassinations targeting Iranian leadership figures through sophisticated operations, including covert missions aimed at senior military officials and nuclear scientists.
Attacks on Nuclear Reactors
Israel has carried out numerous strikes against Arab and Muslim nuclear programmes, arguing that such projects could threaten its strategic dominance.
Most recently, Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility was attacked only days ago.
In June 1981, Israeli aircraft carried out Operation Opera using eight advanced fighter jets to destroy Iraq’s Osirak nuclear reactor southeast of Baghdad. The reactor had been constructed with French assistance, and Israel claimed at the time that it posed an existential threat.
Similarly, in September 2007 Israeli warplanes launched an airstrike targeting a Syrian nuclear reactor in the Al Kibar area of Deir ez Zor province. Israel claimed the reactor was nearing completion with assistance from North Korea.
In recent years Israel has intensified a wide range of offensive and intelligence operations targeting Iranian nuclear facilities. Among the most significant incidents were the seizure of Iran’s nuclear archive and the assassination of several Iranian nuclear scientists.
Targeting Oil Tankers
In mid 2019 several oil tankers were attacked using mines or drone strikes. Initially, the United States administration blamed Iran or its allies for the attacks.
However, later Israeli and Western reports suggested that intelligence sharing or logistical support from Israeli actors to American allies in the region may have played a role in the operations, raising the possibility of Israeli involvement in those incidents.
