American media commentator Tucker Carlson warned that the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei could push the world toward a global religious war, questioning the true motives behind the United States and Israel launching a war against Iran.
Carlson raised the issue in a recent episode of his programme titled: “Could this be a religious war designed to rebuild the Third Temple on the ruins of Al Aqsa Mosque? We hope not.”
Claims of Christian Zionist Beliefs
During the programme, Carlson spoke about what he described as deep rooted and alarming Christian Zionist beliefs held by certain political figures, including Mike Huckabee, Washington’s ambassador to the Israeli occupation state.
Carlson stated that adherents of these beliefs seek to destroy the Dome of the Rock in order to construct what they call the Third Temple.
Allegations About the Motive Behind the War
Carlson argued that the real reason behind the war with Iran, in his view, is Israel’s desire to rebuild the so called Third Temple, which would require the destruction of Al Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, in order to bring about what some believe to be the arrival of a messianic figure.
He further claimed that some Israeli soldiers openly wear patches on their military uniforms suggesting that this objective forms part of their mission.
Warning of a Possible False Flag Scenario
Carlson also aired a video clip in which a rabbi allegedly speaks about launching a missile strike on Al Aqsa Mosque and blaming Iran for the attack, a move that could potentially ignite a war between Arabs and Iranians.
He warned that such an incident could trigger widespread unrest across the world and lead to significant bloodshed.
Carlson also suggested that a false flag scenario could unfold in which a missile or drone originating from Iran might strike the Dome of the Rock by mistake, leading to accusations directed toward Tehran.
The Danger of the “Fog of War”
He added that such events could occur at a time when strict restrictions are placed on the circulation of war related videos across social media platforms, making it difficult to determine the truth.
Carlson described this environment as the real fog of war, warning that it represents one of the most dangerous moments in modern history.
Growing Debate Within the American Right
Shortly before Carlson’s programme aired, the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz published a lengthy report titled: “How Did Tucker Carlson Become the Most Powerful Man in America’s Right Wing Elite?”
The report pointed to the growing intensity of criticism directed by segments of the American right toward the Israeli occupation state.
US Senator Calls the War Religious
Earlier this week, US Senator Lindsey Graham described the American Israeli war against Iran as a religious war that will determine the future of the Middle East for the next thousand years.
Graham, one of the strongest supporters of military action against Iran in the US Congress, stated:
“This is a religious war. Who ultimately wins it? Will it be extremist Islamic terrorists who want to kill all Jews?”
Speaking in televised remarks about the conflict that began earlier this week, Graham added:
“This is a big moment. What we are facing now is a decisive point that will determine the future direction of the Middle East for the next thousand years.”
