White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said on Wednesday evening that United States and Israeli control over Iranian airspace is expected within the coming hours, claiming that the Iranian system has been “completely crushed”.
Speaking during a press conference, Leavitt stated that the US administration is also examining the role Washington may play in Iran once the military campaign concludes, while stressing that there are currently no plans to deploy American ground forces.
She added that the strikes carried out so far were based on what she described as the cumulative impact of direct threats posed by Iran against the United States.
Claims of Iranian Military Weakening
Leavitt further asserted that the Iranian system is being fully dismantled by the joint American Israeli strikes, while noting that US intelligence agencies are closely monitoring reports suggesting that Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the late Supreme Leader, is considered a leading candidate to succeed him.
She reiterated that Washington is studying possible scenarios for its role in Iran after the end of the military campaign, again confirming that no ground intervention is currently planned.
Israeli Claims of Air Superiority
Earlier on Thursday, US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine claimed that the Israeli occupation state already enjoys air superiority over Tehran, in addition to localised dominance along Iran’s southern coastline.
According to their statements, complete air superiority across the country could be achieved in the coming days.
Sharp Decline in Iranian Missile Launches
General Dan Caine also stated that Iran’s ballistic missile launches have decreased by 86 percent compared with the first day of fighting, and by 23 percent over the past twenty four hours.
He added that the destruction of Iran’s air defence systems would allow the US military to rely more heavily on precision guided bombs instead of expensive long range munitions, which could accelerate the pace of the air campaign.
Expanding Military Operations
The United States and the Israeli occupation have intensified their military campaign against Iran. According to the US military, the operation is expanding toward establishing aerial dominance along Iran’s southern coastline ahead of the timeline set in the military plan.
