Recent battlefield developments and the exchange of bombardment between Iran and the Israeli occupation alliance and the United States indicate that the conflict has entered a more dangerous phase, marked by strikes on American military bases in the region and the fall of both dead and wounded.
CNN, citing informed sources, reported that three American soldiers were killed in what is believed to have been a drone attack targeting a US military base in Kuwait at dawn on Sunday. The strike took place within the framework of ongoing operations against Iran in the region.
According to the sources, the attack also resulted in a number of injuries among military personnel, described as minor, including shrapnel wounds and concussions. The injured are reportedly receiving treatment in preparation for returning to service.
The network stated that the US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, is still investigating how an Iranian drone was able to breach the base’s air defence systems.
The US Central Command, known as CENTCOM, announced in a statement published عبر its official platforms that the soldiers had been killed, confirming that combat operations remain ongoing and stressing that a response to the attack is still underway. The statement added that the identities of the deceased would not be disclosed before their families are formally notified.
In parallel, a source indicated that the Pentagon has opened an investigation to determine how the drone was able to penetrate the air defence systems at the targeted base.
These developments come amid escalating exchanges, as Iran has intensified its targeting of American bases in the region since Saturday in response to US and Israeli strikes. For his part, US President Donald Trump stated that the possibility of further American casualties remains “likely”, affirming that military operations will continue until Washington’s declared objectives are achieved.
The US Israeli war on Iran has now entered its fourth day, with the scope of confrontation expanding to new countries, following Lebanon’s formal entry into the battle and Iran’s expansion of its strikes since yesterday to explicitly include Saudi Arabia.
