US President Donald Trump announced that the United States successfully carried out a large-scale strike against Venezuela and its leadership. He said that during the operation, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife were arrested and flown out of the country. CBS News reported that the US Delta Force carried out the operation.
This operation, recorded as one of the boldest actions in the history of modern US interventions, raises many questions that remain unanswered, foremost among them how it was carried out and how US forces managed to reach the heart of the Venezuelan president’s residence and abduct him despite heavy military protection.
To address these questions, Al Jazeera Net asked three of the most prominent artificial intelligence models today: Gemini, Copilot, and ChatGPT.
Gemini views what happened in Venezuela not as a mere military intervention, but as a leadership decapitation operation executed by the most highly trained force in the world. According to the model, US reliance on Delta Force increases the likelihood that Washington had an internal green light from within Venezuela, as such forces are not sent into the stronghold of a head of state unless mission success and safe extraction are assessed to be close to certainty.
Delta Force
Delta Force specializes in direct action operations, hostage rescue, and the capture of high-value individuals. Selecting them indicates that the mission required extreme speed and the ability to fight in confined spaces within the corridors of the presidential palace without triggering a mass casualty event, in order to ensure the arrest of Maduro and his wife alive, according to Gemini.
It is noted that all three artificial intelligence models largely agreed on the scenario outlined below, with only minor differences in phrasing.
According to Gemini, Delta Force relies on absolute surprise rather than conventional military tactics. Its involvement implies that a high level of human intelligence activity preceded the operation.
ChatGPT believes that internal betrayal played a major role in the operation’s success, such as cooperation by someone from Maduro’s inner circle with US forces, facilitating planning and execution. Alternatively, individuals within the Venezuelan government may have been planning to overthrow Maduro and thus assisted the US operation.
Before the Operation
Gemini states it is almost certain that Delta Force obtained detailed maps of secret escape routes and shelters inside the palace, known only to those very close to Maduro. ChatGPT suggests that drones or local agents were used beforehand for reconnaissance, enabling a comprehensive security analysis of the area surrounding Maduro’s residence and identification of weak points.
Copilot provides a clearer scenario, stating that over several weeks, US intelligence teams closely monitored Maduro’s residence, tracked presidential guard movements, and identified vulnerabilities in the security perimeter. On the decisive night, the operation coincided with limited strikes on military and communications sites in the capital to distract attention and confuse Venezuelan leadership.
Execution
According to Gemini’s scenario, the operation most likely took place in the early pre-dawn hours using advanced quad night vision devices, granting Delta Force complete superiority over the Venezuelan presidential guard in total darkness after power was cut to the compound.
Gemini adds that Delta Force favours vertical penetration, often conducting fast-roping descents from quiet helicopters directly onto the roofs of private residential wings, bypassing all ground fortifications and external security points.
This same scenario is shared by Copilot and ChatGPT, with the latter adding that the site was secured beforehand and electronic jamming techniques were used to disrupt Venezuelan military communications. This may have included disabling radars or communication systems, reducing the ability of security forces to respond rapidly.
Securing the Security Circle
According to artificial intelligence assessments, Delta Force kills only when necessary in such missions, focusing instead on rapid neutralisation. They likely used suppressed weapons to incapacitate personal guards in corridors leading to the bedroom without causing disturbance in nearby camps, along with immediate restraint techniques. Upon reaching Maduro and his wife, they would have been restrained in ways preventing resistance or self-harm, then moved within seconds to the extraction point.
ChatGPT holds a similar view, suggesting the use of non-lethal techniques such as tasers and smoke grenades to dismantle resistance, followed by the swift arrest of Maduro and his wife without significant resistance.
Strategic Exfiltration
Gemini considers the most likely post-arrest scenario to involve V-22 Osprey aircraft, which combine aeroplane speed with vertical landing capability, transporting them from central Caracas to an aircraft carrier at sea within 15 to 20 minutes before Venezuelan military leadership could grasp what had occurred.
ChatGPT suggests Maduro and his wife were transported in camouflaged vehicles to a nearby airport, then flown out of the country aboard US military aircraft equipped for rapid departure without drawing attention.
Copilot believes that once the target was secured, a Black Hawk helicopter departed toward a temporary landing zone outside the capital, where a larger military aircraft was waiting. It noted US reports claiming that Maduro and his wife were taken to a US base in the Caribbean before later being transferred to New York.
In all cases, this unprecedented operation relied on intelligence superiority, the element of surprise, and precision execution to overcome all protections afforded to a head of state within his own residence.
Ultimately, the above remains speculation by artificial intelligence models. The future may reveal a different scenario for how this operation was executed, which is recorded as one of the boldest actions in the history of modern US interventions.
