The Israeli occupation and India have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at deepening security, industrial, and technological cooperation between the two sides.
According to a statement by Israel’s Ministry of Defence, the Israeli-Indian Joint Working Group held its annual strategic meeting in Tel Aviv, chaired by Major General Amir Baram, Director-General of the Israeli Defence Ministry, and Rajesh Kumar Singh, Director-General of India’s Ministry of Defence.
The ministry noted that during the meeting, both officials signed the new memorandum, pledging closer collaboration across the fields of defence security, industry, and advanced technology.
During the visit, the Indian delegation also met Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz, the statement added.
Industrial-Security Dialogue
The Israeli ministry further stated that a special round-table session was held with senior executives from major defence-industry corporations, where Israeli firms showcased new military technologies and proposed joint projects to expand defence-industrial cooperation between the two countries.
Baram said in the statement:
“This strategic dialogue with India comes at a critical stage for both nations. Our partnership is founded on deep mutual trust and shared security interests.”
He added that Israel considers India a top-tier strategic partner and is determined to continue expanding cooperation in security, technology, and industrial innovation.
Background and Expanding Ties
In September 2024, India and the Israeli occupation signed a series of economic agreements following the visit of extremist Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and senior ministry officials to India — part of a wider campaign by Tel Aviv to strengthen alliances in Asia and open new military-industrial markets amid its growing regional isolation.
